I. The aim of the history walk

Our school is one of the participants in the project „Rolling Stone – Traveler in the environment through Geomythology viewing sustainability”.

This history walk brings students in contact with nature and they can get to know our history and the legends of Jász people. Furthermore, it can help them develope cultural values.

We can correlate the history walk with many subjects, for example History, Art, Music, Geography and PE.

II. Topic selection

A carved ivory horn is exhibited in the Musem of Jász in Jászberény. It is called the „Horn of Lehel” („Lehel kürtje”). The horn interweaves numerous legends that all Hungarian children read and learn in their childhood. In our town, many buildings and institutions were named after the horn so we can say that the Horn of Lehel is the most estimable relic of Jász people.

III. Participants

The quiz was filled in by the class 4.b. These pupils have already read and learnt about history and legends, for example the legend of Lehel.
